Aiza Said, Brand Consultant

2017_03_19_08_51_14_1

I’m 27 this year and I am still trying to figure what product would best fit my skin. It’s not that I started caring about my skin later than most girls but because when I was younger, my skin was clear. As in – I really didn’t have a problem with it? Then again what were the stresses a teenager could’ve faced that was more serious than the issues we currently have to deal with as adults, right?

I’m sure you’ve heard of Mario Badescu. The products that the brand offers are so good. Actually good is an understatement – the products that they have are amazing! The only downside though, is they are so mahal. I used to have their whole set because I’m the type of person who sticks to just one brand at a time. I hate it when products in my medicine cabinet don’t match with one another hence the sticking to only one brand rule. Is that weird? Continue reading “Aiza Said, Brand Consultant”

Natasya Adolfina, Aspiring Chef

2.jpg

It started when I moved to Malaysia… been spending most of my life here rather than in my own country, Indonesia, since I was 9 years old up until now where I’m 21 years old and have just gotten my bachelor degree in Culinary Arts from Taylor’s University. I just completed my final internship at Nobu KL and am currently on the search for that perfect first job. I’ve basically been in love with art and music since high school, I always got the best marks in school for those subjects compared to others.

What’s In My Bag: Batrisyia Razak

FullSizeRender (1).jpg

We’ll start with the exciting stuff, which is what’s in my makeup bag. I always bring my MAC Studio Sculpt Defining Powder in the shade Medium Deep. It’s a powder foundation, for touching up like when I’m sweaty and stuff. I apply it with my Bobbi Brown Powder Foundation Brush. I also carry a MAC Blush in the shade Swiss Chocolate, because blusher fades away quickly so you need to reapply. This kind of looks like I contour my face with it actually. I’ll apply this with an Estee Lauder Blusher Brush.

Amzar Nizam, Public Relations Manager

B1.jpg

Before I got into PR, I worked for an advertising agency…and just so you know it was kind of boring! I just could not imagine myself doing it for the rest of my life so I then took on another job in Public Relations. PR is really different – I attend events, I meet people and I travel a lot. Currently, I work in a media agency where I am in charge of not only their PR but also their creative industry portal. It gets me quite busy most of the time but hey, I honestly do enjoy it!

Because my job requires me to meet a lot of people, looking good is always a must. Not saying that everyone in this line of work looks like Brad Pitt, but the first impression is so important when meeting potential clients – you not only need to have good communication skills, but appearance-wise, that plays a major role too.

To all our Malaysian friends…

P8310025.jpg

Hey guys. So recently a friend of ours was having a birthday so we went out to curate a birthday gift for her. We say ‘curate’ instead of just, like, ‘pick out’ because we wanted her gift to not just be a single item but to resemble something more like a swag bag. Like it’s not just a GIFT, you know, but a carefully selected assortment of beauty-related items that we not only knew that she would love but also had similar, attractive packaging that would harmonise and look great together. Oh, and it was all wrapped up in a very chic clear pouch from Muji… très minimalist, no?

Anyway, we had so much fun picking out the gifts and we were so proud of the end result that we just HAD to carry out the entire curation process all over again. Now, just going out and buying a whole set of beauty products for ourselves would just be, well, narcissistic and wasteful BUT then we had the idea: why not do a giveaway?

A word on Maybelline Micellar Water.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So I’ve been going through my Estelle & Thild Cleansing Milk like water and although I don’t believe in stopping yourself from using things you love just because it was expensive, I don’t rate the idea of running out of my most expensive skincare purchase ever in… must have been, what, three months?

Thus I picked up Maybelline Micellar Water as an alternative. Now, these cleansing waters have been out for quite a while now and I have always meant to get them. I love that there are so many affordable cleansing waters on the market nowadays (Simple is another one).

Those lazy weekends.

You just had a crazy Friday night out with your friends and family, after days of not getting in touch – and blame it all on work. So you went all out that night – chatting, gossiping, eating, laughing. Then the next morning, you woke up all worn out and grumpy despite the nice Saturday morning. Birds chirping, the sun shining brightly, the winds softly blowing the nice cold air at your window.

And you’re wondering, “What’s for breakfast?”

Why, cheese French toast it is!

Avene Gentle Milk Cleanser, ooh la la.

P8180005.jpg

I’ve used Avene for a good two years now but I’ve only ever used their face spray and hydrating serum. Their face spray is still my HG when it comes to refreshing myself when I’m outdoors or to control the redness I have on certain areas of my face. So far they’ve been working wonderfully and so has the hydrating serum.

Lately, I’ve been investing a lot in makeup remover wipes. My favorite would still be Biore but I have been trying out a few other brands as well. Unfortunately, I now feel that with the amount of makeup I am constantly wearing for work, double cleansing doesn’t make my worries go away as much as it did before. I still go to bed thinking about clogged pores and trapped makeup on my skin.

How To Befriend Your Credit Card

When did you start having your first credit card? Some of us have it when we started working. At that time, owning a credit card (cc) is something to be proud of. The feeling of swiping the card is something that you can’t explain. If you have watched the chick flick movie ‘Confessions of Shopaholic‘, you will definitely get it.

Credit cards can be your “trusted friend” but it can also turn to be your biggest enemy when you receive the bank statement at the end of the month.
